Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Welcome to Peru.
Upon arrival in Lima, you will be escorted to the Hotel Ramada Costa del Sol Lima Airport. Most international flights arrive at night and the flight to Cusco will leave early in the morning, so we recommend a good night sleep.
Day 2: Lima to Cusco
Upon arriving in the city of Cusco, you will be escorted by one of our representatives, who will give you a brief introduction to the city. You will be free for the rest of the morning so you can adjust to the altitude with coca tea.
In the afternoon, you will begin your tour as you enjoy the best view of the city of Cusco from the top of Cerro Pukamoqo (Red Peak), a natural scenic overlook from which the outstretched arms of Cristo Blanco, a massive white statue of Christ, You will then visit nearby Sacsayhuamán (Fortress of Sacsayhuamán), a structure of massive stones carved with incredible precision. As you return to the lower part of the city, you will stop off at the local Market San Pedro, which being the city’s main market, will give you an opportunity to get to know the products of Cusco region, overwhelming you with the sights, aromas, tastes, and colors of the region. Few blocks away, you will discover one of the most impressive buildings of Inca Cusco: the Qorikancha (the Sun Temple)—a temple dedicated to the worship of the Sun God. You will complete the day with a stroll through the Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the Cathedral and admire its exquisite vestibules and priceless paintings from the Cusco School of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Day 3: Exploring the Sacred Valley
Ollantaytambo Archaeological Complex and Pisac Market.
Takes you to the colonial and handicraft town of Pisac with a colorful market and then we drive to the impressive complex of Ollantaytambo, one of the few living villages in the Sacred Valley.
You will enjoy lunch at the local Restaurant – one of the best gourmet experiences in the Sacred Valley – and then return to your hotel.
Day 4: The Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu
Private Tour of Machu Picchu.
Prepare for an amazing day! In the morning, we will board the train in Ollantaytambo for our journey to Machu Picchu. Watch the cloud forest pass by through the large glass windows After a bus ride to the gates of this wonder of the world, You will then ascend to the classical view through heavy tree cover to finally emerge at the top of the world – Machu Picchu! The incredible Inca stone construction will be spread below. Your expert guide will give you a private tour of the ancient city.
We will enjoy of a savory lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge.
You will return for an evening in Aguas Calientes and your guide will give you advice and answer questions about how you might use your following free day.
Day 5: Machu Picchu on Your Own
A Free Day to Explore the Ancient City at Your Own Pace.
This is your day to relax and enjoy Machu Picchu. The adventurous can climb to the citadel from town, from citadel to the sun gate, hike to the inca bridge or hike the steep Huayna Picchu for the postcard view of the city. (These tickets need to be purchased along with the Machu Picchu entrance so you will need to decide ahead of time if you wish to make this climb. Only 400 people are allowed on, half at 7 am and half at 10 am.).
In the afternoon, you will descend to Aguas Calientes for your train back to Cusco. Upon your arrival at the station just outside of Cusco, a private transfer service will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in the city.
Day 6: Cusco to Lima and Home
Today you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to and board your direct flight from Cusco to Lima. Arrival in Lima to board your flight back home; assistance with all departure formalities for your international homebound flight.
