Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Welcome to Peru.
Upon arrival in Lima, you will be escorted to the Hotel Ramada Costa del Sol Lima Airport. Most international flights arrive at night and the flight to Cusco will leave early in the morning, so we recommend a good night sleep.
Day 2: Lima to Puno
Cultural Tour/sillustani tombs.
Upon arrival in Julica airport, your personal guide and driver will wait for you and transfer to Puno City on the way you will visit sillustani tombs, The Sillustani burial site is an amazing complex made up by huge cilindrical tombs where the Aymara Culture used to bury their elite and time at leisure.
Day 3: Puno and Lake Titicaca
Cultural Tour / Uros Islands / Island of Taquile.
Begins at Lake Titicaca's harbor, where you will board a boat for your voyage to the Floating Islands of Uros, home to the ancient inhabitants of Lake Titicaca.
Next, you visit the Island of Taquile, whose residents are known for their friendliness and for their weavings. Here you enjoy a typical lunch prepared by the people of Taquile and bask in their incredible hospitality. You will then return to Puno by boat and transfer to your hotel.
Day 4: Over the Altiplano to Titicaca
Tour bus from Puno to Cusco.
After breakfast, you will board on a guided bus tour that will take you from Puno to Cusco.
Along the way, you'll stop at the key points of interest that dot this breathtaking route. The first will be a visit to a pre-Inca site at Pukara followed by La Raya – the highest point on your travels. Surrounded by glorious snow-covered mountains and buffeted by chilly winds, you'll marvel at the artisans who offer their wares at the roadside market.
After an enjoyable lunch en route, your next stop will be at the Inca site of Raqchi.
The final stop will be the church in the tiny town of Andahuaylilllas. Adorned with beautiful frescoes, gold leaf and incredible wood sculpture, this church is considered the "Sistine chapel of the Americas".
Day 5: Cusco
Private Walking Tour of Cusco.
You will take a private walking tour of one of Peru´s most attractive, fascinating cities: Cusco.
Your guide will illuminate past and present, from the Inca walls and sun temple to the Pre-Columbian Art Museum to the ancient churches and cathedrals to the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas to the bustling modern market in San Pedro.
The afternoon at leisure for personal activities you can explore Cusco on your own.
Day 6: Exploring the Sacred Valley
Pisac Archaeological Complex and Market.
We will take you to the colonial town of Pisac and the Inca ruins that sit on a mountain. You will first stroll through the ruins, taking in the tremendous views of the agricultural terracing that wraps around the mountain and the valley below. Note the Inca crosses representing the three levels of existence and the sun temple.
Afterward, there will be ample time to explore the town with its small adobe homes and peruse the lively market for handmade textiles, ceramics, jewelry and crafts.You will enjoy lunch at the nice Restaurant – and will then return to your hotel.
Day 7: Exploring the Sacred Valley
Ollantaytambo / Moray Agricultural Terraces / Maras Salt Mines.
Your personal guide and driver will start your day with a visit to the impressive complex of Ollantaytambo, one of the few living villages in the Sacred Valley, and then we drive to Moray – Inca ruins shaped like an amphitheater that may have been an experimental agricultural station; you will continue to Maras, a small town renowned for its colonial doorways; finally, you will descend a path to salt mines that have been in continuous use since pre-Incan times. They are truly unique.
Day 8: Machu Picchu
Private Tour of Machu Picchu.
After breakfast, you will have an early morning departure to the train station for the ride to Aguas Calientes town, and then a private guided tour of the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu. After a complete overview of the site with your guide, you will enjoy lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge and then have the remainder of the day to further explore the site either alone or with your guide.
Day 9: Machu Picchu
Exploring Machu Picchu on your own / Return to Cusco.
After breakfast at your hotel, you have a free morning to explore Machu Picchu on your own. A highlight for many is climbing to the top of Huayna Picchu which offers some of the most impressive views of Machu Picchu. Only 400 people are allowed on, half at 7 am and half at 10 am.
Enjoy the scenery, take pictures and enjoy what many call the mystical energy of this truly amazing place.
In the afternoon, you will board the Train back to Cusco. When you arrive, you will be met by your Atika Cusco host and taken to your hotel.
Day 10: Cusco to Lima and Home
Today you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to and board your direct flight from Cusco to Lima. Arrival in Lima to board your flight back home; assistance with all departure formalities for your international homebound flight.
